Hoje vamos ver um dos pilares dos cursos da Alura Língua, que é a frequência e relevância das palavras aprendidas quando o aluno está nos níveis mais básicos.
É comum ver em escolinha de idiomas aquelas listinhas de “as cores em inglês”, ou “todas as partes do corpo humano” ou “os animais do zoológico”. Se você é um aluno super iniciante de inglês ou espanhol, para que você precisa conhecer a palavra “púrpura”? Ou então saber como se diz “rinoceronte”? “Cotovelo”? São palavras que a gente mal usa em português, mas já estão te dando aquelas listinhas logo no começo para você gastar as suas energias decorando elas em outra língua.
Por isso mesmo que a frequência é importantíssima. Aprender primeiro as palavras que você tem mais chance de precisar usar, seja pra falar ou reconhecer quando ouvir alguém falando. Faz sentido, né? Então em vez de decorar aquela lista com todos os animais, é melhor no começo aprender “cachorro” e “gato”, ou “peixe” que também já entra como comida, mas não precisa do “rinoceronte” logo agora. Em vez de aprender todas as cores como “púrpura” e “cinza”, é melhor focar no começo nas mais usadas – “preto” e “branco”, e a gente pode deixar o “rinoceronte” e o “púrpura” pra um outro momento, quando você já conhecer outras palavras mais frequentes e mais importantes do que essas.
E você pode me perguntar, "como saber quais são as palavras mais frequentes?" Bom, muitas delas a gente sabe meio que intuitivamente, né? COisas como "eu", "você", os verbos "ser", "comer", "trabalhar", entre outros. Mas não todas são tão intuitivas.
Para isso criamos essa lista com as 1000 palavras mais frequentes em inglês, na ordem. O ideal é não aprendê-las soltas assim, mas sempre com uma frase para criar uma história na sua cabeça e dar um contexto. Porém, fica a lista abaixo para referência, e para caso você não conheça alguma palavra relevante e queira aprendê-la, buscando uma frase de exemplo para ela.
